Deauville

Deauville is a coastal town on the Côte Fleurie, in the French region of Normandy. A luxury holiday destination since the 1800s, it is known for its large casino, golf courses, horse races, and American Film Festival.

Its large sandy beach is bordered by Les Planches, a famous promenade dating back to the 1920s with its beach huts.

The town features chic boutiques, elegant Belle Époque style villas, and half-timbered buildings.
Trouville-sur-mer

Honfleur

Honfleur is located on the estuary of the Seine, leading to the English Channel. The old harbor (Vieux Bassin), lined with authentic houses dating from the 16th to the 18th century, has inspired artists such as Claude Monet and Eugène Boudin, the son of the town.

Not far from there is the Sainte-Catherine church.

Sports & relaxation
Saint Gatien des Bois Golf Course, 10 minutes from the house.
The restaurant is very pleasant, with a large fireplace in the winter and a terrace overlooking the greens in the summer. For a more exclusive experience, the Golf Lucien Barrière in Deauville.
Equestrian club on Deauville beach, La Mangeoire (great for rides but requires a good level of skill).
Thalassotherapy relaxation in Deauville.
Shopping

In Deauville. Many brand boutiques. I recommend the market where I always find a nice and affordable piece of clothing 😉
In Honfleur. Normandy Outlet, 80 brands at discounted prices, just 5 minutes from both houses!
Culture & strolling
Eugène Boudin Museum in Honfleur (One of the 4 museums in Honfleur).
For a leisurely stroll in a charming village: Beaumont-en-Auge. Lunch or dinner at Café des Arts – Place de Verdun, 14950 Beaumont-en-Auge, and visit the permanent exhibition of painter Antoine Vit.
A new must-see cultural spot in Deauville: Les Franciscaines.
And if you still have time and energy, don’t miss a visit to Etretat (1 hour drive), it’s stunning. You’ll discover the famous "Aiguille creuse"!
Restaurants
My favorite restaurants on the Deauville beach: Sunset Beach or La Villa Barrière.
A little further (take the car), La Terrasse des Ammonites, 41, rue des Lais de Mer, 14910 Bénerville-sur-Mer. We love this place, it's super nice.
In Trouville sur Mer, the brasseries: Les Vapeurs, Le Central, and the small restaurants at the Halle aux Poissons.
In Honfleur: L'Endroit: excellent and with a very pleasant setting. It's better to go when the weather is not nice (no view).
On the Bassin, the simple but very nice restaurant of my friend Samuel: Le Cap 42.
La Chaumière Gourmet Restaurant with a stunning view of the Seine Estuary.
Local tips
Cakes
The bakery just across from the church in "La Rivière Saint Sauveur" (a village 2 minutes by car from both houses).
It is undeniably the best bakery/pastry shop in the area!
If it's the season, don't miss the raspberry tarts (the raspberries come from ALLAUME, a local producer based in La Rivière Saint Sauveur, where you can also buy fruits, vegetables, homemade jams...).
The butcher’s shop
"La Ferme" Domaine de la Griserie – 14130 Saint-Gatien-des-Bois. The meat is excellent, and you can ask the butcher to vacuum-pack it for you. I recommend the homemade prepared dishes (blanquette, pot-au-feu, and bolognese sauce). (You must visit the farm and the calf and cow breeding, great for children!)
The supermarket
Leclerc (the closest to the house) in Honfleur & Leclerc Drive.
The fishmonger’s
The fishmonger in La Rivière Saint Sauveur (the closest) or the fish market in Trouville (a great "return from the catch" atmosphere!).
